Ford, Gerald Rudolph (b. 1913) (the
real name and surname are Lesley L. King-ml.), 38th President of USA
(1974-77). Stay of Ford in the rank of the President of USA has not left
an appreciable trace in a history of the Soviet-American relationship.
Only in November 1974 during working meeting of Ford with L.I. Brezhnev in
Vladivostok to the Agreement on OSV- and quantitative "ceilings"
on separate kinds of strategic nuclear rockets and on rockets the general
approaches were coordinated with divided warheads. In the staying two
years of presidency the basic attention of Ford in the foreign and
internal political problems connected to maintenance of his re-election on
a post of the president of USA, including end of war in Vietnam. The
author of the book of memoirs “A Time to Heal” (1979).
